West Delhi Lions defeated New Delhi Tigers by 15 runs via the DLS method in a rain-interrupted match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) Season 2 on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium

Chasing a modest total of 139 runs, the Lions lost Krish Yadav in the first over of their innings. Nevertheless, Ankit Kumar kept the scoreboard ticking, scoring 25 off 14 balls, including 4 fours and a six, before departing in the fifth over

At the time rain halted play in the eighth over, Ayush Doseja (13*) and captain Nitish Rana (8*) were together at the crease, with the Lions at 61/2

Earlier, New Delhi Tigers posted 138 for 8 in their 20 overs after being put in to bat first. The Lions showcased disciplined bowling in the first innings.

New Delhi’s top order collapsed early: Shivam Gupta was bowled for a duck off the first ball, followed by Parth Bali and Dhruv Kaushik falling within the powerplay. Vaibhav Rawal anchored the innings with a composed 64 off 50 balls (5 boundaries and 2 sixes), and captain Himmat Singh added 30 off 30 balls.

The Lions’ bowling effort was led by Manan Bhardwaj (3/12 in 3 overs), supported by Anirudh Chowdhary (2/26) and Shubham Dubey (2/25). A late cameo from Lakshay Thareja (13* off 9 balls) didn't alter the outcome much
